Project 52 – Week 10 – Grace
Well, it’s Thursday afternoon, which means it’s time to put together a blog post for Project 52. This is a project being run through Beautiful Beasties Network, a group of professional pet photographers. Every week a new theme or subject is selected, and each photographer sets out to interpret the theme in their own way. This week’s theme is grace.
Lucky, lucky me. You see, my beautiful girly’s name is Grace. Oh, her formal name is Silverwood’s Elegantly KLAD PCD, CD, RE, CGN, TDI, but around here we call her Grace. Gracie-Lou, Grace-Face . . . there are many nicknames that she answers to. Those letters behind her name are titles, which show how versatile this girl is. PCD is Pre Companion Dog and CD is Companion Dog. Those are both obedience titles, awarded by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). RE stands for Rally Excellent, which is a rally obedience title awarded by the CKC. In order to earn that RE, Grace also had to earn her Rally Novice (RN) and Rally Advanced (RA) titles. CGN stands for Canine Good Neighbour, which is a certification program offered by the CKC to all breeds, not just purebred dogs. This certificate promotes good behavior and recognizes owners that invest time and energy into training their dogs. TDI is Therapy Dog International certification. Yes, Grace is a certified, working therapy dog. She visits regularly at the local hospital, and she is a favourite among both staff and patients there. As you can see, Grace is pretty accomplished. We continued to train for and compete in rally obedience.
Grace comes by her name honestly. She is sweet, loving, patient and full of . . . well . . . grace. She has never met a person, dog or cat that she hasn’t liked. She’s not pushy, just very gentle. Her specialty is providing care to those in need . . . not just to people, but also to other dogs. She spends her time at home shadowing my old (12.5 years) dog, ensuring that he is warm and comfortable.
So, without further ado . . . meet Grace.
As this is a blog ring, please click on this link to head over to Karla Ogilvie’s blog to see her rendition of Grace. Follow the links in everybody’s blogs until you get back here, and you will see many beautiful photos of dogs, cats and other creatures.
